Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district have arrested three men after a video surfaced showing a Dalit youth being assaulted, threatened and humiliated by a group earlier in November, officials said on Thursday.
The incident occurred on November 22 in a village under Premnagar police station. According to police, the attackers lured the youth away on the pretext of offering him a cigarette before taking him to a house, where he was beaten, abused and forced to strip. One of the men allegedly pointed a pistol at him while another filmed the assault.

Jhansi Circle Officer Ramveer Singh said a case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Three accused — Sukrit, Anand Nayak and Kanishk Ahirwar — have been arrested, while the main accused, Nishant Saxena, is absconding.
Police said the motive behind the attack is under investigation.
